Notes of Faith November 4, 2026

I will continue to post the link to the “Go Fund Me” account for our friend, John Belle who lost his brother earlier this year and his mother last week, now alone, trying to continue to live in very expensive California.  Thank you to those who have already helped and thank you to those who are going to.  His current need is great, but God is helping us to help him make choices, that, although he will have to move to survive financially, he should be able to keep his job and have enough to make it from day to day.  Again, I thank you and pray that your reward in heaven is multiplied greatly!

Angels Unseen

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16

When were angels created? They are not mentioned as part of the created order in Genesis 1, but we have an intriguing passage about this in the Old Testament. Near the end of the book of Job, God spoke to Job out of a whirlwind and asked: “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation… while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7, NIV) That seems to indicate that a choir of angels sang in worship as God created the universe. If so, the Lord made them first.

The apostle Paul said in Colossians 1:16 that Christ created everything, the invisible as well as the visible, the spiritual realm as well as the physical. One day God will merge these two realms into one unified reality (Ephesians 1:10; Revelation 21:3). But for now, as we thrash around on this visible world, we should rejoice that we have the support of an invisible host whose existence predates the cosmos.

Praise God for that today!

Angels, unseen, attend the saints, and bear them in their arms; to cheer the spirit when it faints, and guard our life from harms.

Col 1:15-18

15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.

He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,

16 for through him God created everything

in the heavenly realms and on earth.

He made the things we can see

and the things we can't see—

such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.

Everything was created through him and for him.

17 He existed before anything else,

and he holds all creation together.

18 Christ is also the head of the church,

which is his body.

He is the beginning,

supreme over all who rise from the dead.

So he is first in everything.

There are people that call themselves Christians that don’t understand the deity of Jesus, that He is the eternal God, who has always existed.  They think Jesus did not exist before being born in a manger in Bethlehem.

John 8:58

58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.

“I Am” was the name God called Himself when He spoke to Moses from the burning bush that was not consumed.

Jesus created servants that He chose to serve mankind.  We should be very grateful for those that serve us that we do not see.  Let us give thanks today for these beings that God created to bless and serve us as they serve Him!
